STATISTICS TO GIVE US HOPE

A prolife legal defense firm called Americans United for Life recently released an extensive state-by-state review and analysis of state laws dealing with profile issues. The report, entitled Defending Life 2006, examined legislation dealing with abortion, end of life issues, bioethics and the conscience rights of health care workers. After analyzing the laws in all 50 states, Defending Life 2006 ranked Michigan the #1 Best State for Life. The hard work of Michigan profile citizens and lawmakers has paid off in Michigan as we are leading the nation in defending the lives of the most vulnerable.

MISSION STATEMENT
Right to Life Macomb County Northwest is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, all-volunteer organization defending the sanctity of life from fertilization to natural death through membership, education, fund-raising, legislative action, and political action.

	Education
We participate in local events, speaker's bureau, county fairs etc. Brochures and other educational materials to educate the public on the life issues are available for you and your group from the affiliate.

	Legislation
Grassroots participation is crucial for the advancement of pro-life legislation and the defeat of pro-abortion legislation. You will receive updates in this semiannual affiliate newsletter as well as from Right to Life of Michigan in their bimonthly newspaper (when you become an affiliate member—see membership page).

	Community Assistance
We contribute to crises pregnancy centers and adoption agencies that serve central and northeastern Macomb throughout the year.

	Prayer
We have an annual Memorial Service in January to mourn the legislation of abortion in 1973 after the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision.

	Public Relations
It is important to have a positive local presence and example of what it is to be pro-life.
